I’ve been a part of quite a few styled shoots, but none quite like this. If you look closely in the photo below you’ll see that girl in the ultra-fabulous-pink-puffy-dress is me. Yes. I was the model and it was definitely not in the plan. Typically I look like a little floral goblin, working behind the scenes to make everything pretty but we had a mix up with the model and before I knew it- I was sitting in the makeup chair at 4:30 in the morning getting pretty before our sunrise shoot!
The shoot was a pink picnic party in the middle of the sand dunes at Pismo beach. The looks we got carting all of this stuff to the middle of the dunes was priceless and the sand was so cold, my feet looked like two blocks of ice. After a quick set up- I changed into the most fun dress I’ve ever worn. If I could wear it every day I would but people would probably give me really weird looks in the grocery store.
Jordan always captures the most beautiful images and creates the most aesthetically pleasing shoots. This one was no exception. From the pink candles to the individual cakes for each place setting- it was magical. Floral wise I wanted to create a runner down the entire center of the table, mixing in dried elements with dreamy quicksand roses and pops of brighter pink throughout.
Definitely a styled shoot I’ll never forget, and if I could wear this pink dress every day I would! No how many guys do you think we could confuse if I used one of these on my dating profile?
